Five Brothers Meats is offering frozen Individually Vacuum Packed (IVP) fillets to North Central Washington.
This year is what they call a "building year" for us, with just basic offerings, at a highly competitive price.
Our location is open by appointment only, and I'm happy to deliver frozen salmon to anywhere in Okanogan and Chelan counties.

Where is it from and how does it get here?
The largest run of Sockeye Salmon on Earth is in the Bristol Bay area in Alaska. The 2024 run was 51.6 million fish! There are about 1600 boats and about 1000 on-shore operations that commercially harvest the run. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game manages the run by opening certain times only, allowing around 20 Million of the fish to run up river and spawn. The run has been very effectively managed and a sustainable run has been harvested since Alaska became a state in 1949.
Once the fish are caught and chilled in the fish hold they are taken to a larger boat called a "Tender" where they are weighed and sold to the processor we fish for, Silver Bay Seafoods. The Tender then takes them to the On-shore processing facility where they are filleted, packaged and flash-frozen.
The frozen fillets are then barged to Seattle to the big cold storage facilities.
Through Sliver Bay's direct marketing program, fishermen can buy salmon in bulk (1200lb pallets) and sell to their hometown areas.
2024 was the pilot year for Five Brothers Meats direct marketing salmon.
Fishing 2024 on the Krink
Dalton is a deckhand on one of the boats that catches fish. 2024 was an overall good year on the Krink. The season is only about 6 weeks, with a week before and after to do boat and net work. Most boats catch 100-200,000 lbs of salmon in that time.

The fish are caught in a gillnet and picked out by hand. They are then bled and put in the refrigerated water in the fish holds.
